Win Tickets to Isthmus Beer & Cheese Festival

Some may wonder how we survive the winters here in Wisconsin. Beer and cheese certainly come to mind. And in the middle of January, what better way to enjoy the two than with a festival dedicated to them? Madison’s popular weekly newspaper Isthmus brings you the ultimate beer and cheese pairing at the Isthmus Beer & Cheese Festival on January 19, 2013 at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisconsin. The festival offers FOUR HOURS (2-6pm) of sampling your way through the fine creations of nearly 50 craft brewers (with three or more brews each) and over 20 cheesemakers. Advance tickets are $40 (it’s unlikely any will be left at the door), but one lucky winner is going to receive a FREE PAIR OF TICKETS right here on The Mad Traveler.

And if you’re wondering, yes, the festival is listed in my Wisconsin’s Best Beer Guide. One lucky festival attendee will go home with a copy of the book on January 19th.

How to Enter

Let’s keep it simple. Post a comment below, say anything — suggest your favorite beer and cheese pairing maybe — and you’re comment will be numbered. You have until noon on January 12 to enter, and then a winner will be chosen randomly (number generated by Random.org) and contacted by email. (So watch your inbox so I can contact you for a mailing address.)

Only one entry allowed. Be sure to include your name and an email address (email address won’t be displayed or sold to nasty/annoying interwebs creeps)

Optional: Subscribe to The Mad Traveler Blog (by reader or email) and Like The Mad Traveler on Facebook. It won’t affect your chances of winning; just do it if you are interested in travel, beer, the outdoors, photography or random stories (not generated by Random.org).

  • I love the Madison beer scene with many great bars and brewpubs and travel often from Milwaukee to visit them. Thanks to your book, I found out about newly opened Karben4 and stopped at it last weekend, otherwise I might have missed it. The Smoked Porter and Rye APA were excellent. Looks like Madison has added another great brewpub to their arsenal!

  • How very timely! My contributions to last night’s neighborhood New Year’s Eve party = a growler of Winter Warmer from the Thirsty Pagan Brewing Co (in Superior) and an appetizer of bacon-wrapped sweet peppers stuffed w/ cheese curds from the Ellsworth Creamery. Minnesota resident, Sconny girl for life!
