Fond Memories of Portugal

A summer holiday in Portugal offers sun-drenched beaches, fabulous sightseeing opportunities and fun for all the family. A slice of the Iberian Peninsula is the perfect getaway for all members of the family, and will leave you all with fond memories long after you return home.

The Algarve is the most popular area of Portugal for families and couples alike and offers plenty of beachside hotels with many watersports and activities right on your doorstep. There are golf courses galore with spectacular views, set against quiet little towns. Great restaurants offer you plenty of choice for your evening meal. During the daytime, if you can bear to leave your poolside sun lounger, there are many local markets and shopping malls with bargain souvenirs to be had, as well as some great lunchtime dining options.

Albufeira is a popular resort with lots to offer. This is the place to head if you are looking for days of sunbathing and nights full of partying. This is a modern resort and seafront, which sits nicely against the cobbled streets of the old town, meaning it has lots to offer travellers looking for some lazy days pottering round the town. There is a great local gypsy market held every fortnight which is well worth a visit.

If you’ve got the kids in tow then head to Alvor, they will love the beautiful and clean golden beaches, with plenty of water sports on offer, and they will go mad for the waterparks! There are also some historical sights for the more inquisitive traveller, including medieval castle ruins at the top of the town which you can explore.

Portugal holidays keep bringing travellers back year after year and offer something for everyone. You can choose from bustling resorts or quieter fishing villages where you can blend in with the locals. Wherever you choose you’re bound to make many happy memories in Portugal.
