Another national scenic trail in Wisconsin is the Ice Age Trail. It will eventually stretch over 1,000 miles entirely within Wisconsin. Several excellent segments, such as this Blue Hills segment, are contained in Hiking Wisconsin

Not all the hikes are super long. Some of them, such as Ferry Bluff trail, are short and sweet with the payoff of an excellent view.

I just purchased and quickly read through this excellent book. But I don’t understand how and why it does not include Rib Mtn. St. Trail with its various trails, ranging from easy to moderate. You missed it; you must include it next time (unless you can’t).

I’d also recommend a very easy trail, Steinhaugen Recreation Area, northeast of Stevens Point. Take a look.

    • Thanks for the suggestion, Jim. I will certainly consider it in the next update if they hire me for it again. Updating these guides usually involves removing a handful of trails for a handful of new ones. I agree that would have been a good addition. Next time!
