A photo from my trip to South Korea last month. As in most industrialized nations, and even a lot of developing ones, the young people (not only) are growing more and more glued to the invisible world beyond their phones rather than the one right in front of their faces. One thing I noticed in the streets of Seoul was an abundance of marketing using large cartoonish costumed characters. You might bump into them coming up out of the subway. Anyway, this one pictured here apparently had some texting to do. I wasn’t the only one to notice. A good crowd of Koreans rushing off to lunch or the next appointment stopped in their tracks to giggle and point… and take out their cell phones to snap a shot and send it to everyone else.
