Around the World in 47 Days

It’s the eve of departure. My living room is full of scattered piles of clothes and odds and ends I will need for my next trip. The ink’s not even dry from the last stamp in my passport and I am about to head out for 47 days! Completely around the world: from Chicago, to Japan, to Thailand, to Turkey, then home again. I need everything from a snappy business suit to a tent and snorkeling gear. How will it all fit? That’ll be me at the check-in counter straining against a bulging carry-on bag weighing 70 pounds pretending to be 10. One of my more ambitious trips yet.

47 days. Eat my dust, Phileas Fogg.
